About me
Hello, I am
Yukta, A 17-year old Physics lover, born in Rajasthan and brought up in Delhi. Since
my childhood, I have been a space enthusiast. I was famous for my questions
whether it’s my school, family or neighborhood. The most frequent complaint
which my parents received was that I ask a lot of questions.
I recall an
incident of my childhood. I was in second grade and learning about the universe
for the very first time. So I asked my teacher that what Earth is. She replied
that this is Earth and we are living on it, then I again inquired her that when
would we see the Earth form above and then the whole class started laughing and
the teacher ignored me. From that very day, everyone started calling me ‘Question
Mark’.
I was always
a nerd and weirdo. I grew up a lil like an introvert. I was in fifth grade when
I decided that I would be an astronaut. In seventh grade, I heard the word
physics for the first time and I developed a keen interest in this subject. I
did not even know what it meant back then but somehow that word pleased me. I
then choose to take PCM and CS in my grade eleventh.
I won’t say that the last two years in the
school were easy for me, I had failed many times both in academics and in some phases
of life too but I was very lucky to have always found the right people in my
life, who acted like a cushion to me. Who believed in me even when I felt like
a piece of failure.
My family was
always very supportive and especially my mother, she always motivated me to be
brave and bold and to create my own path. I also have a very amazing grandfather,
he is the one with whom I share everything about my studies and he gives the
best advice every time. I have received education from a highly learned group
of teachers. I bow my head in full veneration to them. Also, I am extremely
lucky to have a very supportive and caring lover who inspires me to be
myself.
Now, I am a
first year Mechanical Engineering student in a university in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra
Pradesh (My family recently shifted here, so I had no other choice but to study
here). Initially when I was thinking of joining Mech I had just a few reasons
to do it but after realizing that I am the only Female student in the batch of
67 male students, I feel like I got a lot more reasons to do it and to peruse
it with full passion so that I can inspire more young girls to take up careers
in STEM and specially Mech , so that it can no longer be seen as a male
territory.
I hope to
continue my passion with the strength I get form my supporters.
